Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Jaapla (“we”, “us”) provides AI shopping intelligence for consumers in the Philippines and future markets. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and related rules.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use Jaapla, we may process:
- Account data — email, display name, password hash, country preference
- Usage data — searches, product views, wishlists, price alerts, chat prompts
- Device data — browser or app type, push notification tokens, approximate IP
- Affiliate click metadata — marketplace, product, timestamp (for commission tracking)
- Support correspondence you send to us
We do not process card numbers or marketplace checkout payments — those stay with the marketplace.
3. How we use data
- Provide search, recommendations, alerts, and account features
- Improve ranking, review intelligence, and product quality
- Send transactional email (password reset, alert notifications) when configured
- Send push notifications you opt into
- Detect abuse, secure the Service, and comply with law
- Attribute affiliate referrals to partner programs
4. Legal bases
We process data to perform our contract with you, with your consent (for example push notifications), and for legitimate interests such as security and product improvement — balanced against your rights.
5. Sharing
We may share data with:
- Infrastructure providers (hosting, email, push) under data-processing terms
- AI model providers when you use chat or review summarization features
- Marketplace affiliate networks when you follow a tracked buy link
- Authorities when required by law
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Alert and click logs are retained as needed for operations and partner reconciliation, then deleted or anonymized. You may request deletion subject to legal retention duties.
7. Security
We use industry-standard controls including encrypted transport (TLS), hashed passwords, and access-restricted admin tools. No method of transmission is 100% secure.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data, and withdraw consent for optional processing. Contact privacy@jaapla.app. You may also lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.
9. Children
Jaapla is not directed at children under 13. If you believe we collected a child’s data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Launch operations are Philippines-first. Some processors may store data outside the PH; we require appropriate safeguards where required.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after posting means you acknowledge the update.
